FAQs
Do I need California counsel?
Usually no for records-only subpoenas under UIDDA—California’s clerk issues the subpoena based on your out-of-state subpoena. Some situations (testimony, complex objections, motions) may require local counsel; we can refer if needed.
Can you domesticate for testimony?
Yes—procedures differ. Tell us if you need appearance + production or appearance only so we prepare the correct form(s) and notices.
How soon can I get records?
Subject to statutory timing and any objections. We’ll propose realistic dates and seek custodian cooperation to meet your schedule.
Will you certify the records?
We request custodian affidavits compliant with Evidence Code §1561 and manage §1563(b) costs.
Do you handle HIPAA and consumer notices?
Yes. We prepare, serve, and calendar all required notices and waiting periods.
