Usually no for records-only subpoenas under UIDDA—California’s clerk issues the subpoena based on your out-of-state subpoena. Some situations (testimony, complex objections, motions) may require local counsel; we can refer if needed.

Can you domesticate for testimony?

Yes—procedures differ. Tell us if you need appearance + production or appearance only so we prepare the correct form(s) and notices.

How soon can I get records?
